Definition
An oxygen delivery method that senses the start of an inhalation and delivers a short burst of oxygen timed to it, rather than a constant stream — this conserves oxygen and is what makes small portable concentrators possible.
Pulse-dose settings (1, 2, 3...) don't map directly to continuous-flow LPM numbers; equivalence is confirmed clinically with an oximetry check, not assumed from the setting number alone.
