For anyone considering cutting back rather than eliminating alcohol entirely, the research is consistent that reduction still meaningfully lowers risk relative to higher intake — this isn't a strictly all-or-nothing calculation. Tracking sleep quality and blood pressure over the first month of reduced drinking is a concrete, personal way to see the physiological changes the research describes rather than taking them on faith.
